Drones used to assess Lincolnshire Floods

Updated: Nov 21, 2019

Two months of rain fell in Wainfleet, Lincolnshire this week in just two days leading to extensive flooding after the river Steeping burst its banks.

Three military Chinook helicopters have been deployed to drop ballast to repair the river banks. Many houses still remain flooded and a state of emergency has been declared in the area.

The Lincolnshire Police Drone team took to Twitter to tell its followers how it was assisting the Environment Agency with its work on impact assessments of flooding.
